Job Description

Within the Steering Department, the senior controller will be integrated in the EA finance area as part of maternity leave replacement. The Steering Department covers all the consolidation phases (actual, forecast, plan, budget, …), analysis and general advices for Top Management and the shareholder Generali Group.

Mission & responsibilities of the Senior Controller:
  • Assist with financial planning and steering activities by analyzing consolidation figures both insurance technical components and non-technical topics for EA Top Management and Generali Head Office reporting. This is done using Tagetik Onyx and Tagetik GHO reporting tools across Actuals, Forecast, business planning, and budgeting phases.

  • Build simulations / scenarii concerning the group financial trajectory (with various granularities),

  • Monitor group targets (forecast / plan / budget, …).

  • Arbitrate trajectories in relation to provisioning, by collecting inputs from the entire Finance team (Investment Treasury, Tax, Holding, …).

  • Review of Balance Sheet, P&L, and General Expenses data submitted by countries to verify consistency in order to provide organic/business analysis (business storyline behind the figures)

  • Provide support and conduct analysis on IFRS17 components in all phases: main components, main trends, main portfolios impact to Identify IFRS 17 levers into the steering process

  • Assist with monthly reporting and deliver comprehensive descriptive analyses as needed.

  • Work closely with the team to assemble and present high-quality deliverables to Top Management.

  • Play an active role in all phases of the Intercompany reconciliation process to guarantee accurate consolidated views.

  • Take part in diverse projects led by the Controlling team to enhance data quality and performance analysis.

  • Support to strategic initiatives at group & local level on different controlling topics

  • Manage the interactions with Generali Group.

Preferred Experience
  • Master degree with specialty in Finance/Actuarial/Controlling/Accounting, obtained from a business school or a leading university + Perfect command of English (in written & in spoken)

  • Strong skills in pack office (PowerPoint, Excel) and Data analytics skillsets, and knowledge and implementation experience of data tools (power BI, etc…)

  • The knowledge of the main Property & Casualty Insurance aspects

  • Strong decision-making, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to drive for results through cross-functional and international interactions.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, under tight deadlines and prioritize workload

  • Pro-active behavior and strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders and other team members.

  • Capacity to create positive work environment
